Let's wander in the forest

Ellie Davies is an English artist and photographer who explores the forest to create photographic installations with enigmatic and poetic power. She started photography ten years ago, after a master’s degree at London College Communication. She now works alone and develops her projects around the forest.

Fascinated by the unique atmosphere of English undergrowth, she immerses herself in the forests, immersing herself in the place and her silence, and then creates facilities within them. She leaves to live some of his works in the heart of the woods and then returns some time after the photograph, sometimes surprised by the evolution of his creations subjected to the test of time.

A selection of his work is currently being presented in Moscow at Forest Stories, a series of exhibitions aimed at encouraging awareness of the real situation of forests, notably Russian but also global, as well as raising public awareness of behavior Responsible to them. The event runs from September 20 to October 20, 2013 and features Ellie’s photographs from the series Come with Me, Smoke and Mirrors and The Dwellings.

Ellie Davies is interviewed in the first issue of Cercle Magazine, speaking more in detail of her shots of a disturbing and sublime strangeness.
