The Martian module of Gilles Ebersolta
By Pierre-Mathieu
Dégruel Designed in 2002 by the architect Gilles Ebersolt, the Boomerang dwelling is the prefiguration of a Martian module.
Experimented on the site of the volcano of the Furnace, its inflatable high pressure structure is composed of an entrance hall with amenities, a dormitory of six hammocks and a space for work and meals. All the furniture is suspended from the walls by cables.
The structure and anchoring systems of the Boomerang give it a great stability that allows it to adapt to irregular or sloping terrain. In case of depressurization, the module is designed to ensure the safety of the crew.
