The Ethereal Paintings of Adam Dix

Adam Dix, born 1967, lives and works in London. His work is about the association between communication technologies and our desperate desires to communicate at all costs.

The artist appropriates the exaggeration inherent in ritual, nationalist, religious or science fiction imagery to support his point. According to Adam Dix, these systems of beliefs that link past and present make it possible to define science fiction as a contemporary folklore, a remanence of social psyches and ritualized veneration. The telephone and the satellite become totems, and aggregate the flow of communication of the whole humanity.

The work of Adam Dix is presented in the Portfolio pages of Cercle Magazine n ° 2: science fiction.
