The visions of Benoit Paillé
Benoit Paillé is a photographer who lives and works in Quebec. After studying biology for three years, he turned to the visual arts and deepened his passion for photography. Very quickly, his photographs appear in different publications. He also participates in numerous exhibitions in Canada, Japan, Europe and Russia. His multiple series of photographs explore the themes of humanity, portraiture and nature. This is notably the case of his series Alternative Landscape which questions the notion of landscape by staging it around a central luminous cube. Absurd and poetic, his installations reveal the taste of the artist for light and staging.
In the case of the well-named series LSD, the artist proposes a hallucinated vision of the forest. It is indeed after taking LSD and entering the meditation phase (sic) that he becomes aware of the irradiating presence of nature around him. It is in his fabulous clichés that Benoît Paillé attempts to reproduce visually this particular sensory experience.
