The wooden throne

Many designers try to interpret the spirit of the forest. Merve Kahraman has a much more frontal and far more funny approach as well. This 25 year old young designer from the Central Saint Martin School offers the Hybrid1 and Hybrid2 projects. These chairs are very directly inspired by the half-animal, half-human chimeras that haunt the forests of our mythologies. Objects, worked closest to animal characteristics, (for example, leather has been specially chosen to reflect the skin of a deer by its pattern), reveal all their message when the user is sitting on it. Behaviors also change depending on the animal being incarnated. And it is at this moment that man and animal meet, by means of a simple and strange object, a wooden chair, worked entirely by hand.
