Kim Høltermand or the future Scandinavian

Kim Høltermand is a Dane. Born in Copenhagen in a family of artists and architects, Kim began his photography career late. Specializing in fingerprint recognition for the Crime Scene Unit of the Danish National Police, he uses his talent for the enhancement of detail to the benefit of his own photographic style.

Kim Høltermand seems fascinated by architecture and landscapes, his two domains of predilections, and knows how to draw all latent fictional potential. Icy images and denatured colors are the hallmarks of his many photographs. It is with dexterity that it takes advantage of the light and massive forms in order to give the buildings and the landscapes a surreal atmosphere. The subjects disappear in a mastered composition and thus become places of another world. Almost aseptic and contemplative, the artist’s images, which play on abstraction and absence, reveal many unspoken. Høltermand delivers strange clichés of a cold future and yet already there.

The artist has seen his work published in the pages of Port Magazine, Eyes on magazine or Echoes of Future. He was also exhibited in 2014 at Humanature at the VAEG Contemporary Art Gallery in Denmark.

Kim Høltermand’s work can be found in the Portfolio pages of Cercle Magazine n ° 2 – Science-fiction.
