Delaney Allen's dazzling sea

Young photographer based in Portland, Oregon, Delaney Allen captures dreamy landscapes bringing out nature’s majestic beauty. Texas-born Allen travels a lot and loves isolation. He rarely captures people and when he does, it is either his girlfriend or himself. In his images of the sea, the latter appears resolutely wild, rough, dazzling. He captures its explosions often in close-ups that draw towards abstraction, the spectator is then not always very sure of what he’s looking at. A zoom on the milky foam and it turns into a snowy mountain; another on the explosion of the wave and it turns into a geyser.

Delaney was part of Time’s “51 photographers to follow on Instagram” in 2016. He is currently represented by the Nationale gallery in Portland.
