Years by Bartholomäus Traubeck

The German artist Bartholomäus Traubeck produced Years, an amazing sound work. Born in Munich in 1987, the artist lives and studies between Rotterdam and Lintz in Austria. The theme that emerges from his work is the paradox between nature and technology as proved by this installation.

The material is simple: Beautiful slices of veined wood recovered from the Austrian supplier Rohol and a platinum from the Pro-ject Audio stock and customized for the occasion are enough to compose Years. And now: vinyl turntable transforms the tree rings into music! Grafted and parameterized from the Playstation Eye device, the light beam replaces the diamond and follows every vein running through the wood and its irregularities and then associates it with notes played on the piano . Of disconcerting poetry!
